IFOAM EU Group at Brussels Green Week
From May 30 to June 2 the DG Environment of the European Commission holds its annual Green Week in Brussels. This year’s theme is biodiversity and 72 organisations have been chosen to present themselves and their perspectives on biodiversity to politicians, governmental and non-governmental organisations and the interested public.
The IFOAM EU Group is one of the participating organisations, approaching the theme naturally with ‘Organic farming and biodiversity’. The aim of the IFOAM EU Group stand is to illustrate how diverse farming can be and how it can contribute to biodiversity conservation. Visitors of the stand can find information on the connection between organic farming and biodiversity, admire the diversity of a selection of displayed seeds, participate in a rare species vegetable quiz, taste organic wine or get in touch with the basics of organic farming in a conversation with a Belgium organic farmer.
