IFOAM EU Group is looking for 5 volunteers to take part in the European programme "European Voluntary Service" starting April 1, 2013 (for 1 year) in our office in Brussels. See the programme description below:

EVS Programme: The European Voluntary Service (EVS) provides young Europeans with the unique chance to express their personal commitment through a full-time voluntary activities in a foreign country for a period of 1 year. Young volunteers can develop new skills and, therefore, improve their personal, educational and professional development. See more info here.

Project description:
The volunteers will mainly be involved in two different kinds of projects during their stay at IFOAM EU Group. All 5 volunteers will work together on the creation and development of a blog addressed to young people on issues related to organic farming. Secondly, each of the volunteers will be involved in a project related to the work area of their team (e.g. EU Policies, Research/Innovation, EU Regulation on organic food and farming/Food Security, Communication, Event coordination/Administration). The content of this project will be worked out together with the respective supervisor. Additionally, volunteers will be invited to further develop their major interests through a set of training courses, seminars, conferences and study visits to European Institutions. A stay of 1-2 weeks in an organic farm is scheduled for the spring/summer 2013, where volunteers can learn the practical side of organic agriculture.

The learning experience is formally recognised through a Youthpass. Volunteers will get accommodation, insurance, public transportation costs, an allowance (pocket money) for the duration of the project and a language course.  

Volunteers profile:

Open to people aged 18 to 30, who are legally resident in any of these 5 countries: SPAIN, GREECE, CZECH REPUBLIC, LITHUANIA, CROATIA.
