CAAE
Profile of the Association
 | | The CAAE Association will celebrate its 20th Anniversary in 2011.
|
Focusing
on the development of certified organic farming since the beginning,
this nonprofit entity also counts among its objectives protection of the
environment and rural development. The entity gathers more than 9.000
members.
Between other activities, the CAAE Association:
- carries out campaings and projects sector-oriented and consumers-oriented;
- publishes magazines and books on the sector;
- works as a lobby organisation at national level;
- collaborates with IFOAM EU Group;
- promotes organic products and fosters its consumption in fairs and others events;
- signs agreements with administrations and others entities related to the organic sector;
- offers consultancy services to producers and processors;
- organises conferences, meetings and seminars;
- and, always looks for new services to answer to the sectors' needs.
Caring for the correct application of the EC Regulation 834/2007, the Association also developed its own standards for organic aquaculture, inputs in organic farming, organic restaurants, organic shops and organic parks.
Product of the month: www.comercioecologico.comComercioecologico.com is an online search engine for organic food compiling products of more than 100 virtual organic shops linked to the CAAE Group.
This organic platform allows to:
- compare prices and go on a virtual shop to buy products
- vote, recommend, value and share opinion on products
- meet other people interested in organic farming
