Project aims

The general objective of the project is to give organic advisers, which are trainers of organic farmers, the competences and skills necessary to address the new exigencies of more focus on sustainability assessments and documentation on organic farmers. In particular, STOAS aims at developing two training courses for organic advisers/trainers on sustainability and sustainability assessment tools, considering that the first objective of the project is to provide a proper solution to the most recent challenges affecting the organic farming. It is clear that not only farmers, but also consumers are asking for more information and diffusion of acknowledgement about organic products and further sustainability documentation. In this perspective, STOAS will contribute upgrading organic advisers who will be capable, on a second time, to train farmers in meeting the new demands of the market, producing as well in sustainable way.

Some of the main activities

1.- To develop the overall guidelines for a sustainability training course addressed to new organic advisers;

2.- To develop the overall guidelines for a sustainability training course aimed at experienced organic advisers;

3.- To develop course curriculums and course materials for these two course;

4.- To disseminate project results among enlarged target groups in order to ensure the maximum learning possibility and exploitation;

5.- To ensure a professional project management, implementation and quality management plan.
