THE 4TH ASIAN ORGANIC RICE CONFERENCE

Organized by the Korean Federation of Sustainable Agriculture Organizations (KFSA), Goesan County and IFOAM Asia, the 4th Asian Organic Rice Conference will be held in Goesan County, Chungbuk Province in South Korea, from Oct 2nd to Oct 3rd, 2014.

The Asian Organic Rice Conference has developed from the annual exchanges among organic rice farmers in China, Japan and Korea as the farmers realized the importance in sharing their knowledge on organic rice production and techniques with other farmers in Asia.

The theme of the 4th Asian Organic Rice conference will focus on the importance of family farmers/small-holder farmers in organic rice production who have carried on with the values of traditional farming, bio-diversity and environmental protection.

Topics of the Paper Call

Case studies of organic rice production by family farmers/small-holder farmers related to the following topics:

Biodiversity   Food security   Climate change   Community building

Environmental preservation   Seed saving and exchange  Preservation of the values of traditional farming

Format of Papers /Submission Deadline

- WORD format, maximum 4 pages / a brief cv of the author, with contact numbers and emails

Selection of the Papers

All papers will be reviewed by a special committee and the selected authors will be notified by June 30th, 2014.
