2 Tours will be organized, and will include a visit of companies that are certified for wild harvested production. Both groups will visit the Vranica Bilje Company, situated in Gornji Vakuf. This company produces a tea mixture made of wild herbs that grow in this area. The tour to Herzegovina will also include a visit of the Andjelic Company in Trebinje, a company that produces essential oils made of herbs that grow and are characteristic of the Herzegovina area (i.e. sage and immortelle).
May 5th-6th
A 2-day trip to Herzegovina, including an overnight stay in Trebinje - ending in Sarajevo (hotel in Sarajevo is included)
The unique beauty of Herzegovina, including picturesque slopes and hills and the plains along the river Neretva, lies in the fact that the Herzegovina simultaneously a mountainous, coastal and continental. The Central Herzegovina region hosts over 32 types of endemic plants and trees.
Tour will include a visit of Mostar, the unofficial capital of Herzegovina. This city is named after the bridge of Mostar called “Stari Most” (Old Bridge), which is one of the most famous and most beautiful bridges in Europe, representing a masterpiece of bridge construction and architectural and landscape design. Projected and built during the Ottoman Empire and destroyed in the last BiH war, it was reconstructed in 2004 the the exact specifications of the original bridge. Blagaj and Stolac will be visited on the way to Trebinje. Blagaj is famous as being the source of the Buna River, which springs in full strength from beneath a steep cliff. The Old Dervish House is amazingly tucked into the corner of this natural phenomenon. Stolac is a town considered to be of great historical significance, the influence of many Oriental and Mediterranean cultures evident in the town’s architecture. Necropolis at Radimlja are also located only a few kilometres away from Stolac.
May 5th
1 day trip in Central Bosnia, starting in ending in Sarajevo (hotel in Sarajevo is included)
Central Bosnia is characteristic for its beautiful landscapes, diverse flora and fauna and for its unique historical and cultural monuments. The tour will take particpants to Banja Luka, a town famous for its green space, and continue on through the canyon of the Vrbas river, one of the nicest mountain rivers on the Balkans, perfect for rafting and kayaking. Additionally, the tour encompasses visits of Jajce, a historic city famous for its monuments from II world war and older as well as for its Pliva waterfalls, and Travnik, a city at the edge of the Vlasic mountains that is renowned for specialty sheep cheeses.
