SANA AND GOOD LIVING ARE BACK
The
2008 edition continues the project launched last year, focusing on
Italy as the ideal country for offering products that accompany a
healthy lifestyle. Sana turns 20, and the whole city celebrates.
SANA was set up in 1989 as a natural food exhibition. This
was the period when the newly emerging field of organic agriculture was
highlighting the close links between food, health and the environment,
and the show championed this new approach. Over the following years,
the scope of the exhibition branched out to include products and
services such as natural medicine, personal care and the home. Our new
format, launched last year, will again concentrate on good living by
promoting contacts with foreign markets.
The Sana wood,
consisting of more than 2,000 trees planted in 2007 as part of a Po
delta reforestation project, has the objective of offsetting the CO2
emissions produced by the show. This sends out a clear message
concerning the environmental impact of our daily choices and behaviors.
Nutrition,
the fulcrum of this year’s edition, responds to the desire to
rediscover the pleasures of taste and conviviality by highlighting how
organic products are extraordinary ingredients and ideal partners for
Italian cuisine. Two of the official conferences are devoted to the
most topical issues in the field of organic agriculture. The first is
the opening conference entitled Healthy and tasty food. Current state and future prospects for organic products in Italy. Introduced by Giampaolo Fabris. The second conference is entitled Dietary choices and health. Healthy living with organic food from early childhood.
The theme of the main event during the four days of the fair. “Tasting Sana: good wholesome food to discover and enjoy” will go on stage: live cooking demonstrations, guided tastings, conversations and meetings with chefs, artists, and stars from show business.
This
year marks Sana’s 20th edition, and the whole city will celebrate. An
itinerary of good living will wind throughout Bologna, involving
restaurants, herbalist’s shops, chemist’s shops, book shops, furniture
stores, bakeries, and gourmet food shops. It will be an opportunity to
taste organic dishes, discover wonderful local foods at small tastings,
sample countless varieties of organic fruits and vegetables, and
learn how to safeguard your health in a natural way. It will also be a
chance to make friends in Bologna’s many squares, book shops, and
museums: all the ingredients you need for a healthy lifestyle!
