Advocacy for Organic Agriculture
Advocacy for Organic Agriculture is among the most critical aspects of Growing Organic Sectors. The choices of policy makers and heads of business are affected by advocacy, as are consumers and farmers. Advocates appeal to individuals and organizations in all levels of society. Many groups are actively engaged in formally advocating for Organic Agriculture (read IFOAM's Positions). Advocacy can also happen through informal everyday acts like purchasing food from a local organic farmer.

Effective advocacy (Advocacy ToolsAdvocacy and Lobbying Training Materials) incorporates both practical and strategic activities, many NGO actions function on both of these levels simultaneously.  Individual advocacy as well as larger scale formal advocacy of NGO's requires a strategy which is firm as well as diplomatic.
