Advocacy for Organic Agriculture is among the most critical aspects of
Growing Organic Sectors. The choices of policy makers and heads of
business are affected by advocacy, as are consumers and farmers.
Advocates appeal to individuals and organizations in all levels of
society. Many groups are actively engaged in formally advocating for
Organic Agriculture (read IFOAM's Positions). Advocacy can also happen
through informal everyday acts like purchasing food from a local
organic farmer.
Advocacy
strategies aim to affect change at various levels- including
increasing community awareness, influencing law and policy making and
