Not Aid but Trade: Export of Products from Africa
International trade in organic products is growing. Already in 1994 Sida recognised this development and the potential for African countries to find new export markets in Europe. Sida initiated in 1995 the EPOPA programme - Export Promotion of Organic Products from Africa.
Autumn 2000, the third phase of EPOPA has been completed and presently it is time to look back at how the programme has developed, what results have been achieved, what problems have been met and how the programme can possibly be continued and extended in future...
