Program Introduction:
International Competence Centre for Organic Agriculture is introducing a new Certificate Program in Organic Agriculture ( CPOA ). This CPOA is a vocational course of six months duration and successful completion of this course will lead to placements in companies and organizations that implements projects on Organic Adoption and Group Certification.The participants / Students will be provided hands-on trainings in implementing such projects for getting farmer-clusters certified and linked to markets.

This program has been developed to meet the increasing demand of trained manpower in projects and procurement programs in organic production and to provide field-level staff to implement Small Holder Group certification (SHGC) for organic certification.

The participants are therefore trained vigorously in technical aspects as well as in certification requirements, organic standards, conformity to national and international standards in organic production, processing and marketing, etc.

The program is for people who work or want to work in the organic production/agricultural industry and want to develop technical and basic management skills. The program provides knowledge required to apply organic production skills in the workplace.

This program is also sustainable for those who are already working on similar programs or want to start a career in organic agriculture. This course provides focused practical experience in the organic agriculture industry.

Certificate Program in Organic Agriculture ( CPOA ) is a six months course. The batch starts in July 2011 and completes in the end of Dec 2011.This program is an opportunity for learning the most advanced knowledge and practical skills in Organic, sustainable and holistic management of organic systems of crop production, certification, and marketing. It will train the participants gaining a deep understanding of wide range of organic agriculture techniques, including soil improvement, organic methods of disease and pest control, preparing and developing marketing and market-linkage plans.

Duration: Six months, from July 2011 to Dec 2011

Number of participants: 30 Students

Fees:
Application Fees - INR 250 ( payable alongwith application form ).
Tution Fees - INR 18.000 ( for full six-months ).
These fees are for admission and tuitions charges only.
The payment can be made at once or in six equal instalments 3000 per month.
For students who need boarding and lodging, ICCOA can assist in arranging shared accommodation near to the study centre.
Tentative cost of lodging is between Indian Rupees 2000 - 3000 per student per month.
All payments should be made through DD/Cheque in favour of "ICCOA", payable at Bangalore.

How to Apply:
Application form are available at ICCOA Head Office on all working days from 09:30 hrs. to 05:30 hrs IST (GMT + 5.30).

Staff position responsible for developing farmer-clusters, documentation, arranging training programs, ICS inspections/internal audits, interested in working with agri-related NGOS, Organic Certification etc.

Placement: Certificates will be awarded to the candidates after successful completion of this program. Apart from this, there is a 100% job placement guarantee on the successful completion of course.

Commencement: 4th July 2011

Eligibility: Minimum qualification of SSLC / Xth Std. priority will be given to candidate having experience / background in agriculture and related areas.

No. of Seats: Only 30 seats available for 2011. The admission to this program is on eligibility plus a test or an interview.

CP - 108    Small Holder Group Certification Program
CP - 109    Internal Control Systems: Record Keeping and Tracenet
CP - 110    Marketing opportunities in Organic Farming
CP - 111    Providing market-linkages: Aggregation and Procurement
CP - 112    Providing Market-linkages: Processing and Value-additions
