Training course: Introduction to Organic Production
Place: Antrim, Northern Ireland, United Kingdom Training language: English Dates: 3-4 times per year Duration: 2 days (1 day on each of 2 weeks) Cost: Free
Target groups and admission requirements: Farmers and growers who have a limited knowledge of organic production methods, and who are considering converting to organic production
Training objectives: To allow prospective organic producers to make a decision as to whether or not to convert to organic production
Training program: Course content includes:
- Basic concepts of organic production
- Organic certification
- Organic crops
- Organic livestock
- Organic vegetables / horticulture
- Conversion to organic production
- Organic Farming Scheme support grant
- Visit to an organic farm
