IFOAM Declaration for Living Change Endorsed by Alternative Nobel Prize Laureates
September 20, 2010
Inspiration for Living Change was the title of the conference, organized by IFOAM and COLABORA, in which around 200 participants met 10 laureates and prominent dialogue partners and moderators during stimulating plenary and workshop sessions.
Participating Alternative Nobel Prize laureates were Vandana Shiva (India), Percy & Louise Schmeiser (Canada), Ibrahim & Helmy Abouleish (SEKEM, Egypt), Frances Moore Lappé (USA), Taeko Ogiwara & Ikuko Sasaki (Seikatsu Club Consumers Cooperative Union, Japan), Melaku Worede (Ethiopia), Maria Salete Campigotto (Movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais sem Terra, Brazil), Pat Mooney (Canada), as well as World Food Prize laureate Hans Herren (Switzerland).

A major highlight of the conference was the publication of the ‚IFOAM Declaration for Living Change’, a declaration, supported by laureates and participants, that summarizes the elements of their shared convictions and that serves as an appeal to embrace change.
