Germany, February 13th, 2008 –
Global sourcing of organic products is becoming increasingly complex
and widespread. We see virtually continuous exponential growth of
organic markets, which presents significant opportunities, but also
poses challenges, such as the credibility of the product being sourced.
The organic industry is built upon trust, from the farm to the fork.
Sound relationships and partnerships with suppliers and farmers around
the world are key to building that trust, and global sourcing of
organic products requires innovation and flexibility to adapt to
changes.
On the 20th of February 2008, in Nuremberg high
profile speakers will discuss the cutting edge issues in sourcing
organic products globally. The speakers will challenge the organic
sector to improve the credibility of sourcing.
Geert Termmeert
joined in 2000 the Tradin Organic Agriculture B.V. group of companies
as a management advisor and Secretary of the Board. He will let you
experience the sourcing know-how from the eyes of a pioneer in organic
including current issues and future trends.
Bill Wolf is
president of Wolf, DiMatteo + Associates. He will discuss with you the
credibility of Chinese products. He has the on-the-ground experience
while providing strategic advisory services for companies entering and
in the organic products industry in China.
Caren Wilcox,
serves as Executive Director of the Organic Trade Association. She
brings a wealth of experience in the world of agriculture in the United
States. She will address credibility issues and discuss the impact on
business, market,
consumers and policy.
Elke Roeder,
Executive Director of BNN Herstellung und Handel e.V. and Kirsten Arp,
Manager of theMonitoring System from Bundesverband Naturkost Naturwaren
(BNN) will present a successful example of how business is handling the
issue of credibility at a very practical level. Hear about the BNN
monitoring of fruit and vegetables in the organic food trade.
