Training course: European Master Agroecology

Duration: 2 years
Cost: Students will be charged € 4.250 per year for the two-year master course, not including living expenses and transport between the partner countries. Living expenses are about 600 € per month.

Target groups and admission requirements: All students having a BSc-degree or equivalent based on 180 ECTS in agriculture, horticulture, economics, natural resources, biology, food sciences, nutrition, engineering, rural sociology or other fields related to agriculture or the food sector may apply for this course.

Training objectives:
To give EU and non-EU students opportunity to understand structure and function of complex agroecosystems and to build knowledge, attitudes, visioning capacity and skills in using technologies to create farming and food systems that securely provide products and services in sustainable ways.
Through cooperation with farmers, food system professionals and consumers, to shorten the distance between practice and theory, motivate for learning and develop individual and group action skills.
This programme combines principles and processes from a natural science perspective and includes social and economic studies. Creative thinking is required to design new sustainable farming and marketing systems.

Training program:
  • Agroecology concepts and principles,
  • Design, management and assessment of sustainable farming system and food chains,
  • Management of agroecosystems from the field plot level to regional level to enhance and preserve natural resources.
