The 16th IFOAM Organic World Congress will be held from June 18.-20. 2008 in Modena, Italy.
The Organic World Congress will be based on the IFOAM Principles of Organic Agriculture: Health, Fairness, Ecology and Care. Also founded on these basic principles, other focal points will be:
- Regional Values and Indigenous Knowledge, is where we derive experience and inspiration
- Innovation – in all fields – is how we best launch into the future
- Cooperation between different parties, such as producers and consumers, government and private sectors, scientists and practitioners, south and north, communities, regions and countries.

The IFOAM General Assembly will be held in Vignola from June 22-24 2008.

Cultivate the future is the title of the 16th IFOAM Organic World Congress, because we believe that the contribution made by Organic Agriculture is fundamental for guaranteeing generations to come with a healthy, fair, correct environment for harmonious living that respects people and the earth. The Modena area boasts centuries old agro-food tradition that is a benchmark for world food and wine, and the development and growth of organic agriculture plays a central role, from both an economic point of view and also in preservation of the land itself.
